  • Recommendation:

    THAT the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held on October 13th, 2020 be adopted

Ms. Reynolds to present about making Merritt safer from theft, and reducing illegal dumping in the North Bench area.

Mr. Charney to present on behalf of the Thompson Nicola Regional Trail Society about the Rotary Bridge, Rail Trail project, and public input on the future trails and paths within the City.

At the October 13th, 2020 Meeting, Cllr Tony Luck moved the following Notice of Motion:

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council direct staff to conduct a long-term water supply study, including the use of Nicola Lake as a water supply source

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council give First Reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2293, 2020

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council give Second Reading to Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2293, 2020.

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council direct staff to set a Public Hearing date.

At the October 15th, 2020 meeting, the Airport Advisory Committee made the following recommendations:

  • Recommendation:

    THAT the City become members of the BCAC in order to promote the airport and land lease opportunities

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council directs the Airport Advisory Committee to develop a plan for the rental of T hangars

  • Recommendation:

    THAT the City develop a fencing/lighting plan at the Merritt Airport to facilitate potential future grant applications.

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council directs the Airport Advisory Committee to develop a policy for airport fuel pricing

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council approve the attached 5 year licensing agreement with Shaw Cablesystems Limited, and authorize the Mayor and Director of Corporate Services to sign it on behalf of the City.

    THAT Council adopt the attached Letter of Support Policy

To be introduced by Mr. Smith

  • Recommendation:

    THAT Council direct staff to apply for the Spirit Square Washroom project through the Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program – Community Economic Resilience Stream; AND THAT Council direct staff to include this project, with an estimated total cost of $337,238, in the 2021-2025 Financial Plan Bylaw
